No! Sling yoga is perfect for all fitness levels. Inversions are fully supported by the major muscle structure of your hips as opposed to your ankles as with inversion tables. Don’t let the sling intimidate you. It is there to support you as you build strength and balance. All moves can be easily modified to accommodate all fitness levels. You will be amazed at how quickly you build strength using the yoga sling.
If you are at or near 300 lbs please check with your doctor to see if you are healthy enough for inversion. If you have uncontrolled high blood pressure you should not participate in inversion, but you are welcome to join in non inversion portions of class. If you have eye disease such as glaucoma you should check with your doctor before inversion. And we practice an abundance of caution when it comes to pregnancy and ask that you wait until after the baby is born to join us.
We require everyone to preregister for classes. We have 12 slings hung and our popular times usually have a waiting list.
