Being stuck is just a story you are telling yourself.
You can literally just decide to be something different.
I’ve been at least five things since we met.
If you met me after my June Cleaver era, hearing that I had a June Cleaver era might shock the hell out of you.
Some of you have been here since my CPS days and were witness to my Mama Bear era.
One day I decided to pull a Forrest Gump and I felt like running for a couple of years.

I’ve been every size I’ve ever been as an adult a dozen times each. Not because I’m yo-yo dieting because fuq that noise, but sometimes I get into a cooking phase and I must try everything.
One day I decided to do yoga. One day I decided to chase motorcycles. One day I decided to live in my car. One day I decided to live in the middle of nowhere and take care of cows.
And YES. I realize I have the cis gender spoiled rich white girl vibes but I also have the liquidity of a third grader. I have everything I need and sometimes the cash to buy a cheeseburger.
Lack of monetary resources never ever holds me back from doing what I love. Not since 2020 anyway.
I of course went through a omg I have no cash era for about 45 years and was under the delusion that money could solve my problems. And yes, money is a great tool and can solve problems. But just like you need more than a hammer to build a house, you need more than money to build a life.
I was never this creative when I was a 5% er income wise.
Hell, I went through a “we do not use credit for anything” era. I drew a line in the sand one day that cash was king and nothing was worth participating in credit.
This was two days before my air conditioner went tits up, in Texas, in July.
Guess who got an air conditioner? Installed. For $0.
Every single iteration of me is more confirmation that you can be whatever you want. You can have whatever you want. You do not have to follow the rules. Get to know the rules, but break them where necessary.
I fully believe you can be almost anything you want to be. Of course there are many things that have gatekeepers. Like I won’t be a NBA star in this lifetime, no matter how badly I want it, but that doesn’t mean I can never play basketball. I have no desire to be a dr or lawyer, but I wouldn’t be the first 50 something person to do so. If the medical or legal profession ever did call to me, there are many important roles I could fill that have less of a time investment component.
If you REALLY want to visit Europe for the summer, you could save for a three month vacation, or you could figure out another way.
One day my kids brought home a homeless person — true story — he would come to Stepford when he needed money, wait tables til he got enough money then go to Thailand for a year or three and live his best life.
If you hate your job, quit. If you hate your life, pivot. If you can’t navigate around an obstacle you can always turn back.
Follow whatever path seems interesting and it will for sure lead you somewhere. Let no path be a life sentence.
